It’s time to pull out your favourite green clothing and show off your Irish (or wannabe Irish) pride because on March 13, Toronto’s annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade is happening! Whether you have Irish heritage or you’re just Irish for the day, it’s a great way to celebrate the holiday.

There are a variety of things going on including face painting for kids, lots of live music from marching bands, a live flag float (a 48-foot version of the Irish flag is painted during the parade), the ginger jig celebrating our red-headed friends, and so much more.

It all starts at 12pm at Bloor at St. George, close to where the old U of T Varsity Stadium used to be. From there it’ll go across Bloor to Yonge and then down Yonge Street to Queen Street. At Queen, the parade turns and finishes up on Queen Street West in front of City Hall.

If you’re planning on taking the subway, you can easily access the parade route from St. George, Bloor/Yonge, Wellesley, College, Dundas, and Queen subway stations. Wherever you decide to watch it from, just be sure to claim your spot early since it fills up fast! If you’re running a little behind schedule, aim for somewhere later in the parade route so you don’t miss a thing.

Don’t forget to bring along a non-perishable food item! Volunteers will be there collecting donations for the Daily Bread Food Bank.
