Long have we recognized the beautiful imagery – the bright colours, the intricate sugar skulls – that go along with Dia de los Muertos, and wondered more. Have no fear, because this year, Harbourfront Centre will be marking the occasion with a 2 day celebration. From November 5th – 6th join in this free event, a festival honouring, celebrating, and remembering those who have left the world of the living. Toronto Island Through the Years

1950s 60s

Just because September has arrived doesn’t mean you have to stop the summer activities. Torontonians tend to be blessed with beautiful fall weather, which serves those of us still trying to check things off our summer bucket list. One such activity that hopefully made it onto your summer agenda is a visit to Toronto Island. With its many trails, beaches, and summer events the island is an ideal spot to venture to. Not only is it a unique place in the city to escape to, but it has a vast history. We decided to do a little research and find out how the Island we know and love today came to be.  Continue reading

One of Toronto’s most well known music venues happens to be right around the corner from the Pier 27 Tower site! The Sound Academy has been staple in the music scene in Toronto for many years, although in more recent years many people have agreed that the space could use some work. That’s why Charles Khabouth, the CEO of
INK Entertainment, decided to shut its doors back in January and completely overhaul the space.

So six months later, where does the Sound Academy stand, you ask? Continue reading

How Sweet It Is: Our Recap of Sugar Shack TO

We were so happy to attend and have our developer, Cityzen, be a sponsor of the first annual Sugar Shack Toronto event!

The cabane à sucre was hosted by Waterfront Toronto and took place all weekend long at Sugar Beach. Close to 8,000 visitors came out to get a dose of traditional Québécois food, music, and fun activities like ice sculpting. There’s no question that the hit of the event was the maple taffy stand – people were lined up on both Saturday and Sunday to get a taste of the sweet treat! It was the perfect way to take in the beautiful spring weather we had this past weekend and spend some time on the waterfront.

If you didn’t get a chance to pop by Sugar Shack Toronto this year, here’s a sneak peek at what you missed:

The Toronto Islands are such a popular destination in the summer. – it’s a no brainer to go hop on the ferry and head over to the island on a warm, sunny day. But what about in the winter?
